Welcome to the official event page for the annual Lancaster-York War of the Roses Golf Tournament! Rooted in regional pride, this premier amateur golf event pits top talent from the Lancaster County Golf Association (LANCO) against the York County Amateur Golf Association (YCAGA).
The War of the Roses is a highly competitive, Ryder Cup-style match-play tournament featuring 12-man teams representing the Red Rose of Lancaster and the White Rose of York. Local amateurs qualify for their respective county squads by earning points in official ranking events throughout the summer golf season.
The tournament spans two intense days of golf, requiring strategy, teamwork, and individual composure under pressure:
- Day 1 (Morning Session) - Foursomes (Alternate Shot).
- Day 1 (Afternoon Session) - Four-Ball (Better Ball)
- Day 2 - Singles Matches
First teed off in 1995, this annual showcase highlights the depth of amateur golf in Central Pennsylvania. It brings together the region's best players for a weekend of high-level competition and camaraderie, continuing a proud local tradition where home-course strategy, captain's selections, and gritty match-play moments write a new chapter every year.
